Hi – I’m Ian. I started Widescreen Wedlock, and, to put my cards on the table right from the start, I love what I do (and how could anyone not..?!).
I started in the field of narrative filmmaking, which is where I learned the craft of interesting visuals and sparkling sound, and, most of all, of capturing emotions on film.
Taking this into the world of wedding videography has been a wonderful journey. There is nothing more satisfying than working with a couple to prepare and plan, and then deliver, a film that will be something that lives with them forever. The idea that, on a quiet rainy November night in ten years’ time, people say, “Hey – let’s watch the wedding video again!” and re-live those moments and that day, and share a laugh and maybe a tear – that’s why I do this.
That, and capturing unique personalities, separately and together, and how every wedding day is different, and perfect, and has an organic personality all of its own, waiting to be captured, and celebrated, and preserved. That’s also why I do this.
